Disney Vs Non Disney Villains War
Pre War: Controlling Mumm-Ra
Prior to the events of the first war, the Ancient Spirits of Evil are banished by the Oberati and wander into the sandlands of Egypt. The spirits then manipulate one priest, known as Mumm-Ra. Even more, they tempt him with powers, like immortality and the ability to change into Mumm-Ra, the Everliving.

The Spirits then instruct him to enslave the Egyptian people and usurp the throne of the current ruler of Egypt, Pharaoh Seti I. Mumm-Ra succeeds in their goal, but his rule is not long enough, as Rameses and his ally and former Oberati, Mirage, arrive in the middle of Mumm-Ra's ritual. After a brief fight between the forces of Mumm-Ra and Rameses, the mummy priest is forced to make an escape, by sealing himself in a tomb, entering a state of animation. As for the Ancient Spirits of Evil, they slowly cease to exist, until one day, in the later events of the war, Mumm-Ra breaks himself from the tomb, by a familiar figure.
Disney Vs Non Disney Villains War - Part Two
After his son's death, Rameses resurrects Mumm-Ra from his tomb, allowing for the demon mymmy to bring upon the Ancient Spirits of Evil once more in the universe. While not appearing onscreen in many battles, they are mentioned by Mumm-Ra several times, when he pleads the Spirits to change into Mumm-Ra the Everliving, while facing threats, like the Acolytes, Mirage and Zira. After Mumm-Ra's rematch with Mirage in the spirit realm, the mummy priest is forced to retreat, after he witness Scar, a villain he previously killed, fighting him as a spirit. With the mummy priest weakened after the end of the second war, the Ancient Spirits of Evil have small chances to appear in the next part of the war.

Non Disney Villains Tournament
The Ancient Spirits of Evil perish prior to the original events of the first war, though they still live in Mumm-Ra's worship. Even though they do not appear physically, they are mentioned briefly, when Mumm-Ra pleads the Spirits to transform the priest into Mumm-Ra, the Everliving, while facing Ruber and Richard the Warlock.
