Professor Ratigan is a "mouse" criminal genius and the main antagonist of the Disney film The Great Mouse Detective. He is usually a secondary player in the tournaments, but displays a cruel and cunning intellect in dealing with challengers.

Duel of Rodents

Discovering the rat city of NIMH, Ratigan makes plans to take it over as his own private kingdom. Meeting with the city's high council, he attempts to gain their trust, only to be confronted by Jenner, who believes Ratigan will threaten his own designs on power. Jenner makes the grave mistake of calling Ratigan a rat, a term capable of sending the Professr into a rage. Ratigan challenges Jenner to a duel, which Jenner accepts. He comes to battle armed with his sword, but Ratigan is prepared. Flyng into a rage, Ratigan assumes his more feral form, and kills Jenner by slashing him across the back with his claws. Although Jenner is dead, Ratigan decides to keep the killing secret, knowing the public of NIMH will never trust him if they learn what has happened.

Treachery and Response

Taking Jenner's place on the council, Ratigan begins taking steps to turn NIMH into a monarchy with himself as king. He brings in fellow criminal Warren T. Rat, who has recently deposed Prince John of England, to help him in his plans. However, Warren double-crosses Ratigan, revealing he knows of Jenner's murder and plans to release this knowledge to the public unless Ratigan makes him king of NIMH. Sending his bat crony, Fidget, out to gather materials, Ratigan builds a secret weapon, the Giant Mouse of Minsk, that he sends to attack Warren and his gang. Frightened by this war machine, Warren flees NIMH, never to return.

Cats and Mice

Another visitor arrives in NIMH in the person of the Mouse King, a tyrant who aims to bring all the mice and rats of the world under his rule. Storming Ratigan's residence with his army, the King finds himself confronted by Ratigan's latest weapon, Lucifer, whom the Professor has stolen from Lady Tremaine. The cat tears through the ranks of the Mouse King's army, badly injuring the King himself. The Mouse King retreats but vows to return, though Ratigan decides not to heed the King's warnings as he steps forward to his next plans.

Another Rebellion

A third rebellion against Ratigan's rule comes in the form of Martin Brisby, a mad scientist who also wants control of NIMH. By this time, Ratigan is finalizing his plans to become king, and, recognizing Martin poses little physical threat, he simply leaves him to die in a death-trap. As Ratigan departs in his flying machine, Martin is killed in a fiery explosion.

Duel of the Rodents II

Arriving in the NIMH council chambers, Ratigan and his henchmen seize control and the master criminal declares himself king. Just then, the Mouse King returns and attempts to take the crown for himself, taking Ratigan by suprise. The crowning then becomes a massive riot. Tiring of these uprisings, Ratigan breaks through the King's loyalists, grabs a nearby rope hanging from a chandelier, and knocks the usurper from the tower to his death. At last, supreme power is his, and Ratigan settles into his new life of royalty, with complete domination over his subjects.

Vs Old Pete

Years before the war, Professor Ratigan set his sights on conquering a European kingdom ruled by a young Pete. Summoning his army and insulting Ratigan, Pete tried to drive him out, but the savage criminal mastermind overcame Pete in combat and threw him to his own pet lion. Pete only narrowly survived this assault, although Ratigan later lost the kingdom.

Toying Around

Plotting his next big move, Ratigan finds himself in a small toy store populated with sentient toys. Asserting his authority and flaunting his power, Ratigan succeeds in striking fear into almost all the toys, with the lone exception of a Jack in the Box that has an agenda of its own. Narrowly dodging a blow from the Jack in the Box's sword, Ratigan flies into a rage and slashes at his enemy with his claws, managing to knock it into an open furnace

Fighting for England

As news reached England that Pete had failed in his invasion of Wonderland, Professor Ratigan took advantage of the situation to proclaim himself king. Frollo found out about this power change in his colony, and he sent Captain Hook to eliminate Ratigan. Hook's crewmen ambushed Ratigan in his throne room, but the archcriminal escaped in a flying machine. Hook set off in pursuit using his ship, which had also been given the ability to fly, and a chase ensued in the skies over London. The chase came to an end when Ratigan carelessly crashed into Big Ben, and Captain Hook retook England for Frollo.

Disney Villains War Rebot

Ratigan appears in the reboot series in a role similiar to the original one, although more expanded. In the series, he appears as the mastermind behind most of villains' attacks. He convinces Pete to turn against Prince John in order to fuel his agenda over England.

Finally the evil monkey scientist has finished a growing machine, Mojo test it with a rat of his laboratory. Ratigan somehow survived his fight against Mojo (and is still in Human size) sends Edgar to form an alliance with Madame Devil to take care of some little pest.Back at Devil's House, Professor Ratigan arrives and explains his plan to attack Mojo's lair and defeat him along with his army.

Battle with Mojo Jojo Forces

Mojo has Townsville at his command and starts to celebrate his victory but is interrupted by Cruella who orders his surrender but the evil monkey disagree and releases his monkey army. Cruella releases his forces to stop his evil plan, as Cruella and his allies beat the monkey's one by one, there are two forces that come face to face wanting Townsville for their own ambition.

King of Dreamland

With King Dedede still in the dungeon Ratigan becomes king of Dreamland, with Cruella as her trusted companion.

Vs Bernand and Bianca

The master criminal Professor Ratigan, looking to take over the world of rodents, set out to bump off any small heroes who may interfere in his grand scheme. His first targets were two agents of the Rescue Aid Society, Bernard and Bianca. As Bernard and Bianca were flying on their seagull ally Orville's back through London, Ratigan and his thug Fidget pursued them in their hot air balloon. Noticing their pursuer, Bernard and Bianca attempted to alert Orville, but Ratigan managed to ram them, sending Orville plummeting out of the sky. Fortunately, the dragonfly Evinrude arrived and helped slow Orville's descent and get him back into a flying position. Angered by this, Ratigan moved to pursue them again. Feeling they were going too slow, Ratigan threw Fidget out and started peddling the balloon himself. He again managed to ram into Orville but this time, he knocked Bernard and Bianca off the bird's back. But as Ratigan soon discovered, he hadn't been paying attention to where he was going and crashed into Big Ben as Bernard and Bianca safely parachuted down.

Spotted

From the League's individual stories of their encounters with Ratigan (though Timothy stayed mum on the subject), Basil deduced that the professor was hiding in Lady Tremaine's manor in France. Infiltrating the estate, the mice found it guarded by Tremaine's pet cat, Lucifer.The League had no chance to celebrate their first victory, however, as they spotted Ratigan, alerted by the noise, escaping in his zeppelin. Basil sulked over the fact that his mortal enemy had escaped, and the mice departed aboard Orville empty-handed.

Capturing the League of Extraordinary Gentlemice

Basil and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemice investigated the sewers beneath Hawaii while searching for the missing Stitch. Lilo had followed the mice and noticed a large crib in the sewers where she thought she saw Stitch being restrained. However, as she looked closer, she found it was actually Fidget, who had somehow survived being thrown off Ratigan's zeppelin in London. Ratigan himself suddenly appeared, subduing the League and capturing all of them.

Vs Stich and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemice

Back in Hawaii, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemice regained consciousness to find themselves prisoners of Ratigan, who had organized Stitch's kidnapping as a trap to draw the League to him. He also revealed that Stitch was not a dog at all but an alien lifeform, saying that someone had asked him to capture Lilo in exchange for an unspecified favor. While Ratigan threatened Lilo, Basil took advantage of his distraction to shoot the restraints holding Stitch, allowing the alien to attack Ratigan. Stitch threw a vase at Ratigan, but he ducked under the projectile and smacked Stitch away. Ratigan then threatened to kill Lilo if anyone attacked him again, but Bianca called him a rat, angering him and distracting him long enough for Stitch to throw another projectile at the criminal, allowing Lilo to escape. Basil and the League rallied and attacked Ratigan's thugs, with Gus managing to beat Fidget senseless. However, Ratigan knocked his attackers aside and escaped in the confusion.

A meeting

Frustrated with his defeat by the League, Ratigan was met by his secret backer, the alien scientist Dr. Hamsterviel, who derided him for losing Lilo and Stitch.

Vs Forces of Buzz Lightyear

Finding out that Buzz Lightyear had pursued him to Earth, Emperor Zurg tasked Doctor Hamsterviel and Professor Ratigan with disposing of his old enemy and his friends. As the two plotted their attack, Lightyear and the Galactic Federation taskforce broke into Hamsterviel's facility searching for Zurg.Ratigan activated a defensive turret that shot beams of energy, breaking the Federation lines and sending the heroes diving for cover. While Ratigan was distracted with the turret's destruction, Doctor Doppler shot him in the back with a blaster pistol, injuring him. Buzz and the other Federation heroes managed to destroy the remaining Hornets and even a large battle robot that Ratigan unleashed as a last line of defense. As the heroes closed in, the slippery Ratigan escaped on his airship, leaving Hamsterviel behind to be captured.

Teaming with Dr.Facilier

Meanwhile, Ratigan sought refuge in Queen Grimhilde's castle, where he was met by Doctor Facilier. Having heard of the Professor's exploits and seeing him as a useful ally, Facilier used his powers to make good on the promise that Hamsterviel had failed to uphold: he made Ratigan human-sized, allowing him to stand on equal footing with the non-animal heroes and giving him a distinct advantage over Basil.

Vs Mickey Mouse

Hoping to rise above the Horned King in the ranks of Maleficent's faction, Queen Grimhilde was informed about Mickey Mouse's whereabouts by her Magic Mirror. Professor Ratigan volunteered for the task of recapturing Mickey, eager to try out his new size and strength in combat. Catching Mickey alone, Ratigan beat him to the ground before the mouse could draw his blade. Pulling a bell out of his coat, Ratigan used it to summon the T-Rex, having been given custody of the dinosaur by Grimhilde after the mountain ambush. As the T-Rex prepared to attack, Donald and Goofy arrived and used a pulley system to lift Mickey into the air while dropping a large object on the T-Rex, crushing its skull and killing it. Mickey attacked Ratigan with his rapier, wounding him, but before he could finish off the mastermind Shan Yu arrived and escorted Ratigan to safety.

Vs Hercules Forces

As the fighting continued, more Cauldron Born arrived on the scene. Terrified, all of the animals retreated as Ratigan looked on in sadistic glee.As the heroes started to retreat, Ratigan slashed Phoebus in the back, knocking him out.

Vs Beast

Quasimodo landed and approached the wand, only for Ratigan to sneak up on him and smack him, leaving him hanging from the building. Ratigan quickly sent Mulan after, leaving both heroes unable to fight. As Tremaine retrieved the wand, the Dwarfs charged her, but she conjured a powerful gust of wind which blew them into a corner. As Ratigan was about to cut the rope and kill both Mulan and Quasimodo, a loud roar shook the castle: the Beast had returned, successfully revived by Mama Odie. While the Beast distracted Ratigan, Belle helped Mulan and Quaismodo up to safety. The Beast moved to join up with the other heroes, but Ratigan chased after him, losing himself to a feral rage. Ratigan tackled the Beast, plunging onto a balcony above a deep gorge. With no time to get down to the balcony and help, the other heroes could only watch as Ratigan and the Beast engaged each other in a bloody duel. Ratigan seemed to overpower the Beast with his raw fury, sending the Beast plummeting off the ledge. As Ratigan celebrated his supposed victory, Beast managed to regain his footing on the castle walls. Noticing this, Ratigan prepared to strike the Beast down, but the Beast let loose another mighty roar. Losing his footing, Ratigan was helpless to stop the Beast from knocking him off the balcony to his death.

Battle of Grimhilde's Castle

Even more horrors awaited as the League of Gentlemice entered the chamber and Ratigan was restored to life by the Cauldron. This time, Ratigan even had an army of sinister rats to help him against the League.This proved to be the sacrifice needed to undo the Cauldron's power, destroying the Cauldron Born, Ratigan, and his rat army.

Ratigan offers Mojo Jojo a proposition to work alongside Cat R Waul's Faction.Mojo Jojo accepts Ratigan's offer and joins Cat R. Waul's Faction. But they will need more allies if they plan to rebuild their empire.

Meanwhile, Scar and his alliance decide how to organize the assault against the hunters. However, they are greeted by Ratigan, who is against hunters too. Soon Zira arrives to help her husband in defeating their enemies along with her sons Nuka and Vitani and her lionesses. So the lion accepts them in.

Vs Clayton Forces

Now, the battle between Scar's alliance and McLeach's alliance has begun. While Scar is chased by McLeach, Zira and her forces decide to take out the rest of McLeach's allies.

Vs Carface

Telling Ratigan about Pete and Yosemite Sam's plan to take out Frollo's alliance, Cat R Waul is suddenly interrupted by a mafia dog named Carface, who wants Cat R Waul and Ratigan in his criminal empire. When the duo tell him they work for Pete and Yosemite Sam, the dog gets angry as he summons his thugs. At the same time, Waul calls in the battlefield the Cactus Cat Gang to defeat him. Can Carface defeat the two criminals allies of Scar, Pete and Yosemite Sam?

Vs Forces of Hitler and Jan Valentine

Yosemite Sam, Scar and Pete send Cat R Waul and part of their forces to go and take out the Nazi Party, led by Hitler and Jan Valentine, who decided to attack Pete, Yosemite Sam and Scar from Frollo's orders. Cat R Waul and his forces (the Dazzlings, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Ratigan, Cruella, Pinky and the Brain) arrived to deal with the invaders. But can the group of Scar, Pete and Yosemite Sam's allies defeat the main forces of Frollo?

Vs Carface

Thanks to Maleficent's massive resurrection spell, Ratigan has returned and has recruited new allies in order to rejoin once again Scar, Pete and Yosemite Sam. However, a player of the last war wants to take him out and then take revenge on Cat R Waul as well. Carface may have tried in taking out the rat, but will he do if Ratigan survived?

After defeating Carface, Ratigan has recruited new allies in order to increment his alliance with Scar, Pete and Yosemite Sam. In fact he has recruited villains brought back from the death and three newcomers.

Teaming with Ratigan once again

While Yosemite Sam is sending Honest John and Gideon in their dungeon and having a little talk with Jasper and Horace, Scar and Jafar receive a visit from a certain someone that the lion knows in order to join forces once again with Pete and Yosemite Sam and Scar. Shocked to see his formerly fallen ally alive, Scar recruits him, much to Jafar's joy.

The Mad Doctor informs Ratigan of Pete's assassination attempt and Yosemite Sam's defeat against the Major, who is completely mad. Ratigan then prepares to travel in France.

Disscusing about threats

With Scar joining them once again, Pete and Yosemite Sam discuss with Shan-yu, Scar and Prince John about the threats of these mysterious villains, the Major and Prince Phobos (they became aware of Prince Phobos due to Gir accidentally revealing that he and Zim work for Phobos in their assassination attempt on Duncan and Nuka). The lion king however reveals that Julius Caesar joined him to help his friends in taking down the enemies by providing his men on helping the rulers of the world. Ratcliffe, who was attending the meeting, sends out Duncan and Captain Hook to watch over the borders of France. As they go, Ratigan joins his old friends back much to Scar's joy. With our heroes gathered, they prepare for battle against these new foes.

Tired of Joker overshadowing him,The Coachman decided to hire the world's greatest criminal mind himself,Ratigan,to rid of The Joker in exchange of a lot of monies.The Joker was preparing himself to enter the war,but Ratigan enter on the clown's base and managed to knock him down.After that,Ratigan attempts to hit The Joker one last time until The Joker used his flower to spray some toxic gas into Ratigan's face.However,Ratigan succeded into hitting Joker,as The Joker falls into the ground,leaving Ratigan to be victorious.

Starting his faction with Cruella De Vil

Medusa told Cruella and Ratigan that she left them and will join Osborne,which caused both Cruella and Ratigan to be angry and search for more allies.After their call with Madame Medusa,Cruella and Ratigan started their faction by hiring both Fat Cat and Negaduck.After that,Ratigan decided to rid of more threats,so he managed to gather both criminal groups called The Fearsome Five and Toon Patrol and assigned them to attack another dangerous gang of teens named The Gangreen Gang.

Vs Sideshow Bob

Ratigan was celebrating the fact that Sykes died until Sideshow Bob arrives to kill the gangster who almost killed his idol, The Joker. Ratigan was unfaced of Sideshow Bob arrival as he called his two newest secret allies:Roscoe and Desoto.Then Ratigan ordered the dogs to eat Sideshow Bob for him.After te criminal trapped his henchmens,Sideshow Bob was asking Ratigan to tell his final words until Ratigan got angry as he kicked Sideshow Bob down to the floor.Roscoe and Desoto are freed by Ratigan and were tasked to eat Sideshow Bob remains.Sideshow Bob tried to run for the second but with no use as Roscoe jumped into the criminal head,eating half of the criminal head,leaving Ratigan to be impressed by his newest henchmens.

Jenner is outraged because a new member of the NIMH colony named Professor Ratigan is stealing his spotlight as leader of the colony. For this he challenges the rat for the control over the NIMH. However, can Jenner keep his role as leader of the NIMH colony?

Teaming with Scar

Scar informs Zira that he killed Steele and now Shere Khan is the only threat to take out. Fortunately, Ratigan decides to help them since they have something in common: ruling the lands. The king accepts Ratigan, now king of NIMH, as well for future projects he has for the battle against Shere Khan.

After being defeated by Shocker Medusa decides to ally with Professor Ratigan to defeat Joker and his allies once and for all.Cruella is desperate because of her loss of power, but Professor Ratigan introduces himself to her, at first Cruella doesn't want to have anything to do with the professor, but when Ratigan tells him he would like to defeat the Joker and his allies a once and for all then the crazy woman begins to take an interest and decides to ally with Ratigan.

Two new members

Cruella is upset by her attempted robbery and Ratigan decides to reassure her to introduce two new allies to her, namely Edgar and Alameda Slim, the two promise to live up to the tasks that will be entrusted to him in the future.

Vs Venom

Joker meets Venom and promises to bring him into his alliance if he eliminates Professor Ratigan.Venom attacks Ratigan while he's talking to his henchmen about him, scaring them off, but the crafty professor may know the symbiote's weak point.Ratigan after the attempt on his life orders Slim and Edgar to go and eliminate members of the Joker alliance.

An idea

Edgar returns saddened by the defeat, generating the anger of Cruella and Medusa, but Ratigan, after a moment of frustration, has an idea.Ratigan and Cruella free Horace and Jasper to implement the professor's plan.

Vs Great Big Rat

Ratigan introduces himself to all his colleagues as the king of mice and crime, but the Great Big Rat by not accepting that the professor is his boss insults him by calling him a rat. Then in response, Ratigan decides to give his opponent a special gift. What will it be?

Teaming with Sally Ratmousen

At the Daily Rat, Rattigan proposes to Sally Ratmousen and Simon Squealer to join forces to eliminate their opponents including cats. Ratigan proposes that in his mouse kingdom Sally will be his official adviser.

Vs Cat.R.Waul Forces

Cat R. Waul has become the undisputed leader of the cats and proposes the plan to create the Mouseburger, squashing many mice in a trap. Unfortunately, he will be forced to change plans when Professor Ratigan supported by Fidget, Sally Ratmousen and Simon Squealer surprises them to launch their decisive attack on the cats. How will Waul react from this difficult situation?

Ratigan and Sally Ratmousen, after defeating the cats definitively decide to help Madame Medusa and Pristine Figg to defeat the alliance of Pete, Yosemite Sam and Team Rocket.

Pete shows Ratigan his alliance, consisting of Dr. Drakken and Shego, Negaduck and the Gang of Megavolt, Bushroot, The Liquidator and Quackerjack, his henchmen of Weasels and The Beagle Boys and Brer Fox and Brer Bear.

Hiring Si and Am

Even though he is now working for Pete, Ratigan is still bitter about his defeat at the paws of Werner’s robot cat. So he recruits two cats and sends them to go seek out Werner for themselves, promising them that a giant rat is extremely tasty.
